NO FCRA USE. This website is privately owned and run. It has no affiliation with any local, state, or federal government body, court, or law enforcement office. Neither this site nor any of our advertising partners offer services meant for credit checks, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or any other use covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). We exist to help visitors find warrant information and resources in Scott County and Virginia. We are not a private investigation firm, and we are not a consumer reporting agency.
1. What This Website Is
This is a private reference site. We operate on our own with no ties to any government office, court, or sheriff. We do not store official warrant records, and we cannot run a warrant check, recall a warrant, post bond, or file documents for anyone.
The site points readers toward Scott County’s court clerks for case records, the Sheriff’s Office for service routing, and Virginia’s public case-information products for covered matters. VCIN and NCIC are restricted agency systems, not public search tools. Linked outside services operate under their own terms.
2. Informational Use Only
Everything on this site is general information about Scott County procedures and record routes. It is not a substitute for an official court record, a court order, or an attorney’s advice. Use the court named on the paper for a case-specific status question; contact the Sheriff’s Office for service routing. Only the issuing court can explain its current order and any next appearance requirement.
3. Not for Screening or Locating People
This site is meant to help a person check for and resolve a warrant - their own or a family member's - and understand how the warrant process works. It is not a tool for investigating other people. You agree that you will not use this site or any tool linked from it to:
- Screen anyone for employment, housing, tenancy, or credit
- Locate, monitor, track, or target any individual
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, or threaten anyone
- Make any decision covered by the FCRA (see below)
4. Rules for Using This Site
You agree that you will not:
- Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
- Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
- Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
- Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it
5. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:
- Decide whether to hire or fire someone
- Screen potential renters or housing applicants
- Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
- Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
- Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules
If you need a background check for any of those purposes, use an FCRA-compliant screening company.
6. No Legal Advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice. We explain how warrants generally work in Scott County, but we cannot tell you how a warrant, charge, bond, or court date applies to your situation. For that, talk to a licensed Virginia attorney.
7. Accuracy Is Not Guaranteed
Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:
- The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
- The site will stay up and running without interruptions
- Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
- Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate
Court dockets and agency service records can change after a page is reviewed. This site is not an official statement from a court or sheriff, and Scott County does not publish a public sheriff warrant roster. Confirm a warrant’s status with the clerk for the issuing court; ask the Sheriff’s Office only about service routing or agency contact.
8. Third-Party Services and Links
We link to sheriff's office sites, court portals, statewide warrant systems, legal aid organizations, and outside search services across this site. Clicking one of those links moves you off our platform and onto one we have no control over. We are not responsible for their content, how they handle data, what they charge, or whether their site stays online. Check their terms before using them.
9. Intellectual Property
All text, graphics, logos, and code on this site belong to Scott County Warrant Records or our content partners. You may not copy, distribute, modify, or build on our content without getting written permission first.
10. Limits on Our Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for damages that come from using this site - including decisions made based on information found here or through any linked service.
11. Indemnification
You agree to hold us harmless from any claim, legal action, or demand that stems from how you used this site or from breaking these terms. That includes covering our legal fees and related costs.
12. Governing Law
These terms fall under the laws of the State of Virginia. Any legal dispute connected to your use of this site must be filed in courts located within Virginia.
13. Changes to These Terms
We can update these terms whenever we see fit. New terms go into effect the moment they appear on this page.
Terms Questions and Answers
Can you tell me if I have a warrant?
No. This site cannot check a live warrant system. Start with the Scott County Warrant Check route, then contact the clerk for the court named on the case paper.
Can you recall or clear a warrant for me?
No. Only the court that issued the warrant may cancel it. A Virginia attorney can advise you about the steps for your own case.
Is a warrant listing on a linked tool official?
No. Outside tools may be incomplete or stale. Ask the clerk for the issuing court to confirm the case status; the Sheriff’s Office can explain service routing.
